WordPress Support & Maintenance Specialist (Contract, Remote)

Clutch Creative Co. is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented WordPress Support & Maintenance Specialist to manage technical support and ongoing maintenance for client sites. You’ll handle site migrations, plugin updates, troubleshooting, and performance checks — ensuring every site we manage remains secure, stable, and fast. This is a remote contractor position (10–20 hours per week to start) with the opportunity to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate WordPress sites to our WP Engine hosting environment
• Run regular plugin, theme, and core updates using staging and backup best practices
• Troubleshoot common site issues (white screens, plugin conflicts, broken layouts)
• Run health and security scans and provide actionable recommendations
• Respond to client support requests and change orders (content swaps, plugin adds, etc.)
• Assist our lead developer as backup for dev overflow tasks
• Help document repeatable workflows and update logs

Must-Haves:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with WordPress
• Strong knowledge of WordPress file structure, plugin ecosystem, and best practices
• Experience working in WP Engine or similar managed environments
• Ability to safely update plugins/themes and resolve compatibility issues
• Familiarity with staging sites, version control (basic), and basic PHP/HTML/CSS debugging
• Clear, proactive communicator who works independently and reliably

Nice-to-Haves:

• Familiarity with DNS/SSL/domain management
• Design awareness for frontend tweaks
• Experience working in an agency environment or handling multiple sites
